His four steps of what he would do sounded solid. But then he swerved to try to blame it on eight years of Bush — canned Democratic noise. He sounded like a man running for office. McCain, on other hand, sounded like a concerned American citizen. The mention of Kennedy’s hospitalization was a signal of bipartisanship. The rest of his answer, while fuzzy, sounded sincere. Good start.
