Obama has a very well put together talk on Afghanistan (more troops, poppy
trade, Pakistan, taking out al-Queda etc).  It is Obama at his most presidential.  But McCain responds with a small sermon that sounds like a seasoned diplomat lecturing a novice. (“I don’t this Senator Obama understands…”)  It works.  He mentions territory on the border that he visited, the danger of idle threats, the new Pakistani government, his votes against the Lebanon invasion and in favor of force in Bosnia.  I think this is where the experience card really benefits McCain.
