John, you’re wrong: From this speech, I now  understand why Mark Warner is one of the most promising politicians in the Democratic party.  He is going to tear through the Virginia Senate race in November with nearly 60 percent of the vote.  And his keynote tonight was the best speech of the convention so far.  His consistent theme — who will win the future? — is the best argument the Democrats have. It was free of any of the usual Democratic tropes, with lots of references to competition, technology, and the power of business.  He also explicitly made the claim that only one candidate understands the future. If the Obama campaign embraces this message, instead of the phony prattle about Obama being just a regular guy, the McCain team has reason to worry.
