In his speech at the Munich Security Conference last weekend, Vice President Joe Biden described Iran as “a great civilization.” Maybe so. But a great civilization does not excel in torturing and murdering its citizens in sadistic ways.
According to news reports, the number of death sentences carried out in Iran remains one of the highest in the world. In January alone, Iran has executed at least 59 people – mostly by hanging. At least two of them were stoned to death in mid-January – their crime was adultery. A great civilization? Or a barbaric regime?
