This take on “fake disagreements” between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama suggests that we ignore the minor divergences on policy between the two. On NAFTA and Iraq we should know they’re both lying. Neither, despite their words, would tear up NAFTA. And neither would pull out of Iraq immediately, since withdrawing from Iraq would be “untenable and dangerous.” This is a novel way to look at the Democratic race. Just assume the candidates are lying, constantly! If this holds true for judicial appointments, taxes, and health care, we might be on the verge of what would amount to a third Bush term from either of them.
