There is activity on the podium, but no one is covering much of it. Dick Morris on Fox, asked about this (Bill Clinton saying Barack Obama has the instincts of a “Chicago thug”) and this story on Bill’s hypothetical candidates, says that Bill  is playing the role “of some demented fool so he can go around dropping these stink bombs.” And Hillary? Her goal, Morris thinks, is to upstage Joe Biden and convince voters she should have been the VP. One big happy family they are not, it seems.

Then Mitt Romney fends off questions about his differences with John McCain. Relentlessly on message, he says that unlike Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, he never questioned the qualifications and experience of his party’s nominee. As he was earlier in the day, Romney is polished and unflappable. But is he still in the VP running? Who knows. There are a lot of anti-McCain debate comments out there. And he’s not the one to knock down the “rich guy” GOP tag.
