The Obama camp has its story and is sticking to it. On the MSNBC morning show an Obama spokesman insists that Barack Obama had no idea that Bill Ayers was a terrorist when they spent all that time together in Chicago. Well, that’ll be the story until it’s too absurd to maintain anymore. And if you think that’s amusing, you will enjoy Rudy Giuliani’s laugh at both Andrea Mitchell and the New York Times. Really, open scorn is the appropriate response to coverage that it so absurdly incomplete and one-sided and to other reporters who take it as gospel.

Obama claimed that he didn’t know that Reverend Wright said or believed all those hateful things. Now he contends that he was unaware until . . . until when is not clear. . . that Ayers was a terrorist. For a very long time he apparently didn’t know the surge was working. Perhaps next time Katie Couric should ask him what newspapers he reads. He seems rather sheltered and uniformed.
