There are several storylines percolating–none of them helpful to Barack Obama.

First, is the tears-inducing release of Hillary Clinton’s delegates and some suspense as to exactly how the roll call will go. Second, is the Temple of Barack fiasco. ( “O-bam-a” will be “Tog-a”?) Note to confused Democrats: when George W. Bush had columns he was already President and wasn’t battling the image of being a self-anointed Messiah. Needless to say the McCain team is going to agora. . . er. . . town on this. Third is the realization Hillary didn’t say anything terribly helpful last night about Obama. Fourth, is the chatter about Bill Clinton’s speech and ongoing angst.

If Obama appears marginalized and incidental to the action he is. For now. Thursday he will get on that stage (or a quickly refurbished one if sanity prevails), do his thing and bask in the glory of the MSM and his fans. But it says something about the campaign and the nominee that all but the last day will be about other people and other matters. It suggests that Obama is not exactly in command of his own Convention.
