In the New York Post, I explain that the combination of the possible deal to extend the Bush tax cuts, the direction of the recommendations of his budget commission, and his full-throttle defense of free trade during his trip to Asia all suggest that, rather unwillingly, Obama is moving to the center — or rather that he is being pulled there magnetically:

The pressure from democratic allies and his own budget commission might provide convenient cover for a move away from the Keynesian failures of his first two years.

The question is, can Obama sound in the least credible if he does follow the logic of the present moment? Does he possess the vocabulary to talk the talk even if he walks the walk?
