Please Help COMMENTARY Enlighten

I need to ask you a favor. You’re here because you value COMMENTARY. And we’re here because we value our mission, which is to do what we can to enlighten our readers about the immensely confusing days through which we are living. We all need to follow the news as it happens. And we also need enlightenment—to understand what the news is doing to our lives, to our countries, to our civilization. On this blog and on our podcasts, we try to take the measure of the news at it happens and relate it to the deep principles that animate our mission. We write daily on the blog; we produce our podcast twice weekly. We hope you find them of uncommon use, that they are different from other sources of information in their depth, seriousness, and willingness to take the long view.

And in the pages of the magazine, now 73 years old and with the largest circulation we’ve had since the 1980s, we try to provide you with the enlightenment we all so desperately crave.
