Watching the pre-debate coverage tonight I had the feeling most commentators were trying to get front-row seats for the Hindenburg landing. There is clearly glee on the Left at the prospect of Sarah Palin imploding tonight. Even conservatives have become wary of saying anything positive about Palin in the fear they’ll look silly if she can’t cite Supreme Court rulings or defend her choice of reading materials. Bill Kristol on FNC seems to be the exception.
The last time there was this kind of buzz buzz about a vice presidential debate was the 1988, Quayle/Bentsen debate. Of course Bensten got off a good line about his friend JFK, but Dan Quayle ultimately became VP, not Bensten.
