The Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC) based in New Haven, Connecticut, is perhaps the most professional chronicler of Iran’s human rights abuses. Its methodology is above reproach, and it does not bend its reports to politics. This may be one of the reasons the State Department has ended its contribution to it while President Obama pursued his misguided outreach.
Simply put, the IHRDC does the type of human rights reporting for which groups such as Human Rights Watch were founded, but which they have long since abandoned. The IHRDC’s reports are always must-reads, and its latest report, Surviving Rape in Iran’s Prisons, is no different.
This report is required reading to understand the horror of living under the Iranian system and to see how misguided are those who seek to engage and preserve the Islamic Republic.
