Charles Murray wrote a book called Human Accomplishment. In the next edition, he might want to add a section on sports figures — and in particular a reference to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
As this story points out, Brady — whose completion percentage is 65.9 — threw 36 touchdown passes but only four interceptions, including none since October 17. That’s a staggering run of 335 passes without an interception. Brady’s interception rate is 0.8 percent, the second lowest since 1936. That is, as Miami Dolphins Coach Tony Sparano said, a little bit mind-blowing.
When Brady wraps up his career, he will not only be in the Hall of Fame; he will, with his contemporary Peyton Manning, be counted among the top five quarterbacks of all time.
Enjoy them while we have them.
