To the Editor:
Perhaps you’ve gotten many irate letters about Christine Rosen’s column (“You Will Not Think Outside the Box,” September). This is not one of them. As a mother of both sons and daughters, I see boys, especially white ones, falling through the cracks academically, socially, and economically. In college, women and minorities often score grants and scholarships. They get mentors and are let into special programs, while white males are automatically shut out. Who is to say that being a white male ensures success in college when 56 percent of students are now female? Eight years of appeasing the left has resulted in many Americans feeling like they’ve been disenfranchised. That kind of identity politics has consequences. Nobody wins.
